About this print
The print on the dress was created with a "light painting" photo of some lights on the side of a building on Sansome Street neaer Broadway in the Barbara Coast neighborhood of San Francisco. I submitted this photo to a photo contest and the photo was selected to be in a show at a clothing boutique coincidentally just down the block from where I shot the photo! I printed the photo on silk and hung it like a tapestry in the show. After the show I gave the silk print to a young designer, Ashton Miyako, who made a dress with the print. I printed this image and a few more images on stretchy fabric and gave the fabrics to the designer who made a collection. We showed the collection at a fashion show at a bar in the Mission District of San Francisco. The models loved the dresses and I was hooked on making fashion with my prints.
